After making a profound impact in a musically-vibrant industry of Bollywood, Pakistani artists are ready to take the B-Town by storm with their acting forte. Some of them have even established their feet in the industry with Ali Zafar and Fawad Khan appearing in remakes of the old classic Hindi films, Chashme Baddoor and Khoobsurat. As Bollywood is greeting Pakistani actors with open arms, BiWi takes a look at some of the Pakistani actors in B-Town in its feature of ‘Bollywood gossips’:

Ali Zafar
After achieving phenomenal success in music, Ali Zafar tried his hands in acting with a fantastic launch in Abhishek’s Sharma’s Tere Bin Laden. The film received well by the audience and it got rave reviews from critics. TBL breathed a fresh element of comedy that is new and youthful. Ali Zafar was particularly praised for his portrayal of Ali Hassan, a TV reporter wanting to immigrate to USA. The film got Ali Zafar his first nomination in the most prestigious Filmfare Awards. After TBL, Ali Zafar has done a few good Bollywood films namely Mere Brother ki Dulhan, Chashme Baddoor and London, Paris, New York.  With a package of good looks and multifaceted talent, Ali Zafar seems to spend a long journey in Bollywood.

Fawad Khan
After a not-so-shabby performance on big screen, Fawad Khan emerged on small screen with a bang. He made an impactful performance with serials like Humsafar and Zindagi Gulzar Hai, the latter got him the coveted Lux Style award for Best TV actor. After a ride of success in Pakistani TV industry, Fawad Khan made an explosive entry in Bollywood with his debut film “Khoobsurat” alongside Sonam Kapoor. The film became a huge domestic hit and earned him a reputation among the ‘A’ league actors of Bollywood. Fawad Khan received Filmfare black lady for his role in the film and became the first Pakistani actor to achieve the feat. His second Bollywood film will be produced under the banner of Dharma productions and we hope that Fawad Khan could create the same hysteria as he did with Khoobsurat.

Imran Abbas
Imran Abbas is a Pakistani model and TV sensation who appeared in many popular drama serials and TV soaps. He is a household name in Pakistani that has more liking for small screen. After making a decent debut with Pakistani film “Anjuman”, Imran Abbas step into in the B-Town in Vikram Bhatt’s directorial venture “Creature 3D”. Although, the film did not do well at the box office, he was praised for his excellent performance. Currently, he is filming his second film “Jaanisaar” featuring him as “Ameer”. The film is a love saga set against the backdrop of Indian independence movement.

Mahira Khan
The only female actor in the list, Mahira Khan is the latest sensation in Bollywood. Although, the actress already enjoyed a massive fan following in India, it is not until 2014 that she got a chance to work in Bollywood. She will be making her debut with “Raees” where she will play the role of wife of the Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan. While the film is still in the making process, the B-Town has reacted positively to the actress. Even the King Khan was so mesmerized by her acting gig that he could not stop himself praising the lady.

“I would have to excel and perform like Mahira Khan” is what the actor had to say about the actress. The film is slated to release on Eid next year. With Raees, we hope that Mahira Khan could make her presence felt like her early Pakistani contemporaries such as Salma Agha and Zeba Bakhtiar.
